The wine shows fresh and rich notes of black plums, cassis, raspberry, figs, and fine leather, with hints of ginger and spice and soft vanillary new oak. On the
palate, it is full-bodied with firm but carefully weighted tannins on the entry, which become more defined as the wine lingers in the mouth, with dense savoury and earthy characters leading towards a rounded, supple, blackberry and plum finish that displays good restraint and poise.

90 pts - JamesSuckling.com: “Tangy and fruity with chewy tannins, a fine texture and pretty structure. Medium body and a clean finish.”
89 pts - Robert Parker Wine Advocate: "Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2016 Petit Cantenac has a seriously zippy nose of crushed red and black cherries, fresh blackberries and warm plums with hints of menthol, spice cake and violets. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers bags of crunchy black berry flavors, framed by grainy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing refreshing."
