Slightly funky and reductive at first, this wine soon reveals varietal Cabernet aromas of black olive, black currants and bay leaf. The palate has nice weight,
and tastes of mulberry and spice. There’s reasonable tannin, although not too aggressive, and the wine concludes with moderate acidity and long length of flavor.

92 pts - Halliday Wine Companion: “It’s big and intensely flavored, laden with spiced plums, blackberry essence with bitter chocolate and cedary oak flavors. Full-bodied with no shortage of ripe tannins, elegant it ain’t but this has come together well.”
92 pts - James Suckling: “Earthy and spicy red with black and green-olive aromas and lots of dark fruit, too. Full body, soft and velvety tannins and a juicy finish.”
88 pts - Robert Parker Wine Advocate: “Violets, roasted capsicum and cassis all vie on the nose of d'Arenberg's 2015 The Galvo Garage, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot. It's medium to full-bodied and round in the mouth, even if it lacks a bit of density and richness on the mid-palate. Although it could age up to a decade (like all of the d'Arenberg reds), I'd opt for drinking it over the next few years.”
