Occam’s Razor is sourced from a single granitic soil organic vineyard south of Heathcote. The wine exhibits plusher fruits compared to Georgia’s Paddock Shiraz and is a little more tannic. Bright crimson in color, there is a lot of depth of fl avor led by plummy, ripe red fruits. Delicious now, but will reward cellaring.

93 pts - Wine Spectator: "Intense and dark, oozing with inky blackberry and blueberry flavors, accented by hints of black tea, sarsaparilla and black licorice. For all the density and chewy tannins here, this features plenty of charm and an impressive finish."
93 pts - Vinous: “Youthful purple. Expressive dark berry preserve, incense and floral oil scents, along with hints of allspice and dusty minerals. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering concentrated boysenberry, cherry cola and floral pastille flavors that smoothly blend depth and energy. Closes on a youthfully tannic note, showing strong tenacity, excellent clarity and lingering florality.”
90 pts - Year's Best Australian Shiraz - Wine & Spirits: "Emily Laughton makes this wine from an organically farmed vineyard planted in the granitic soils (rather than Jasper Hill’s Cambrian soils) south of Heathcote. The flavors are variations on umami, from black mushrooms to briny olives and notes of leather. The tannins add hints of bitter chocolate and warm edges of
crushed stone. It’s a substantial body (15.5 percent alcohol) but carries itself well.”
90 pts - Wine Enthusiast: "This is a herbaceous expression of Shiraz from the under appreciated Heathcote region of Victoria, and made by Emily Laughton, daughter of the well-regarded Jasper Hill family. Mint and green herbs mingle with potpourri, juicy fruit, and charred oak characters. Tannins are tightly
wound at the moment, but the wine is well balanced and here for the long haul.”
